You know isince we are doing the Irish theme this month, I thought we may as well celebrate with some great tasting punch. It's green and it tastes good too. Even the kids will love it if you leave out the vodka. I use vodka and know its not Irish, but I thought since its green we could give it a whirl. This is a simple punch that packs a lot of flavor. The only question is how much vodka to use. One pint, or two, or if you really want to go out early 3 or more. Enjoy but make sure you stay with the St. Patricks Day party. Enjoy the Leprecon Punch.
March will be here tomorrow and with March comes many things such as March Madness, St. Patricks day and even one of my son's birthdays. St. Patricks day is a day of celebration that many use to have parties and cook festive meals in celebration of the Irish. It can also be a fun time for the kids. For example, they can make all kinds of crafts, color pictures of rainbows, four leaf clovers and all sorts of fun crafts. Adults tend to party like the Irish during this time with good food and lots of green themes.
So lets celebrate St. Patricks day by sending in your favorite St. Patricks day meal or drink. You can click on share recipes at the top of the page or you can send them to me via the contact form or email. Let's make it fun. The person who sends in the most recipes will recieve a special recipe that I don't normally share. If you like seafood, you will love it. Hello everyone; this is an oldie but goodie recipe that my family has enjoyed for many years. I remember the first time we had it of how the flavor just jumped out at me. My family gobbled it up in no time and to be honest there wasn't much left over. Talk about some comfort food, this cheeseburger pie will hit the spot. Your entire family will love it.
Good evening folks, how about some yummy comfort food? Twice baked potatoes are wonderful and easy to make. The best thing is, you can add whatever you like. If you want to change the ingredients or mix, you can do that. Afterall, it is your potato right?
This is a great way to get your family involved in the kitchen. Maybe they can decide what they want in them or maybe they want a combination. Some may want sour cream while others may want ranch dressing. Twice baked potatoes are all up to you. When I was in the Navy and was sent to the Phillipines the first time, I fell in love with some of the local food from over there. One of my very favorite was the Lumpia. I just love it. It's much smaller and crunchier than and egg roll. So, if you have a little time, this is a great side dish or snack that everyone will love. They can be made with or without green beans, or however you want them. Talk about tasty; I promise you they won't last long. The Lumpia is under the pork section.
Good afternoon; after a hard day's work and you really don't feel like cooking, but need to eat a satifying quick meal to tame those hunger pains, you should try Sloppy Joes. They are easy, quick and will satisfy your hunger for sure. Nothing beats a good ole Sloppy Joe. That reminds me of an old truck we use to have called slow Joe. The difference is that Sloppy Joes are quick and easy. Enjoy!
What to do with all those left over boiled eggs. I tell you; a person can only eat so many boiled eggs. There is hope in the form of egg salad sandwiches. The are easy to make and I personally love them. They go great for a picnic or on a fishing trip. You can spruce them up as much as you like but they taste great either way. I also like the fact that you can load it up and have a real man sandwich or you can tone it down for the ladies who may not want all of that. Its under the soups and sandwich page.
Good evening everyone; there is not much better than a baked or smoked ham at Easter time or any other time for that matter. Personally, I like the hams that have a nice sweet glaze on them and wanted to share my recipe for how to make a scrumdilious ham. First, you must get a good ham and I highly recommend getting the half shank Smithfield hams. You can usually find one that don't have tons of fat on it; although, I like a little fat on mine as this is what gives it the flavor. I also inject my ham as well and will explain how that is done. Serve it up with some rolls, a greenbean casserole and whatever you like. Enjoy!
Easter Ham Good morning everyone; its a rainy day today and sometimes people get the blues. Most of us will be jumping out there and working today; then have to come home and cook. Why not cook while you are gone. Come home to a delicious meal that melts in your mouth. A crock pot roast. This recipe came from Cambells soup or either the Lipton soup mix box, but it's been so many years, I can't remember. Anyway, put this in the crock pot on low and come home to dinner. Serve it over rice and your favorite vegetable and you are in there. It's under the beef recipes.
Good afternoon everyone; tonight my family wants Island Chicken so I am going to be making it later on this afternoon. No, I won't be wearing a hula skirt! But I will be creating a video so that you can see how it's done. We will have baked potatoes, and grilled asparaus to go with it. Now, ya'll it don't get much better. I have my chicken in a salt water brine and will be cooking my chicken on the grill, but you can do it in the oven just as easy. I have attached the picture of the finished product.
Sorry folks, I had some technical problems with the videos. I will post them as soon as I get it resolved. Dan |
